Job Description:
Business Development Manager

Bitwise is seeking to hire a professional in a sales role who is responsible for generating new business from new clients, accomplished through networking, referral generation, lead generation activities, etc.  We seek to hire the right person to lead the conversation with our prospective clients to determine their near and long-term goals. We are looking for candidates with the experience and ability to envision, articulate and document the future state of a client’s website needs.
Position Goals
The goals associated with this position include:
  • identifying, negotiating and closing new opportunities with new clients in need of our services
  • assisting clients in planning a new website, website development, digital marketing and/or related on-going website management opportunities
  • positively contributing to our corporate culture and sense of teamwork
Activities

To accomplish these goals, we expect you to:
  • develop and identify prospects
  • qualify and follow up with new leads
  • conduct cold calling activities
  • relationship development
  • perform timely and appropriate follow up with prospective clients
  • require, document and describe client needs and requirements
  • strategize and collaborate with others in the firm on possible solutions for a client
  • create and present proposals
  • manage your own sales pipeline
  • enjoin with others in the firm in relationship management
  • update our CRM with all client information, details, etc.
  • attend and participate in marketing events, luncheons, trade shows, etc.
  • ensure a solid, well-articulated handoff of a new engagement occurs within the firm
  • periodically rejoin the client relationship team for strategy and visioning sessions
Time Allocation

We expect you will spend the following (approximate) time on task for the high-level activities:
  • prospecting, cold calling, networking, referral follow up - 40%
  • proposal development, presentation, follow up and closure - 40%
  • engagement handoff to delivery and management team - 10%
  • ongoing client relationship management assistance - 10%
Ideal Candidate Attributes and Experiences

We expect you to possess the following attributes, background and experiences:
  • experience in closing new business opportunities from new clients
  • a natural propensity for resourcefulness and self-motivation
  • familiarity with web-related technology, content management systems and CRM systems
  • understanding of the ingredients in digital marketing and lead generation
  • experience in preparing envisioning and preparing website strategies
  • solid communications and writing skills
  • intrinsically detail oriented and thorough in follow through
  • a humble, servant-minded, character disposition
  • a solid understanding of website and digital marketing terminology, technology, etc.
Education

Expectations
  • compensation for this position is salary commensurate with experience and plus graduated commissions
  • generate $750k to $1M in new business from new clients per year
  • expense reimbursement for customary expenses including cell phone, mileage, etc.

Atmosphere
