Ron is one of Indiana’s most recognized technology entrepreneurs and visionaries. He has spent his entire professional career leveraging technology to enhance business practices, improve operational performance and facilitate organizational growth. He co-founded BitWise Solutions in 1992 and has served as the company’s president and chief executive officer ever since. He is responsible for the company’s long-term vision, strategic alliances and day-to-day operations. Ron has grown the company from a start-up into one of the state’s most accomplished and well-respected technology consultancies. As a serial entrepreneur, Ron has started half-dozen companies and assisted dozens in their startup and planning phases.
Ron is a recognized leader in Indiana’s economic and business development landscape, and is actively involved in dozens of business and philanthropic organizations throughout the state. His passion toward civic entrepreneurship has led him to be of service to many organizations in the Central Indiana community. The business community has honored him with a number of awards including the Indianapolis Business Journal’s "Who’s Who in Information Technology" and the “40 Under 40” award. He was recently recognized as one of the seven most influential, young business leaders in Indiana and as Indy’s Best and Brightest in Technology by KPMG.
Scott Workman, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer, Scott oversees all technical development at BitWise. His responsibilities include researching new technologies, designing architecture solutions, overseeing the technical training of the development staff, managing technical aspects of client projects, leading product design and development and guiding internal infrastructure solutions.
Scott graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Prior to starting BitWise Solutions, Scott worked at Magnavox Electronics and VIA development where he gained experience in various CAD related programming models as well as product design and support. His expertise involves many facets of Windows and Internet-based programming methodologies and protocols including C#, HTML, EDI, BizTalk, XML, SQL Server, and .NET.
Vincent Sanders, Vice President of Operations

Personal Interests: Traveling, volunteer coaching, spending time with family
As Vice President of Operations, Vincent has overall responsibility for the company's application maintenance and hosting services, as well as client support efforts. Vincent came to BitWise via the acquisition of local competitor Sapheo. At Sapheo, Vincent was in charge of day-to-day operations as the Director of Production. Such daily activities included the coordination of all development projects for Sapheo, working with internal resources and clients to insure that deadlines and objectives were being met.
Vincent began his career with local Internet banking software producer VIFI as the company’s Webmaster and fourth employee. Five years later there were more than 120 employees, and Vincent, growing with the company, became the Project Delivery Manager charged with all software installations for both new and existing clients. Before VIFI was sold to an industry competitor, Vincent had moved into the role of Product Manager in charge of developing new additions to and enhancing the existing product line.
In 2001 he was recognized for his role as the lead architect on “Document Manager” -- the winner of the 2001 INITA Million Dollar Award, which is given to products achieving $1 million in first-year revenues.
Bjorn Carlson, Marketing Specialist

Education: B.S. in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship, Indiana Wesleyan University
Bjorn joined BitWise Solutions to integrate marketing solutions into the current business structure and to coordinate marketing efforts for the advancement and proliferation of the company. His position focuses primarily on developing and implementing specific marketing strategies that include advertising and promotional methods to assist the sales team in generating qualified leads as well as coordinating efforts to effectively implement data-driven marketing techniques.
Upon graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University, Bjorn decided to sell his lawn care and landscaping business of 6 years in order to move to Indianapolis to join the BitWise Team. Bjorn has a great interest in small business and entrepreneurship and has gained invaluable experience through running his lawn care business as well as through internships. These roles provided him the hands-on opportunity to learn the inner workings of running a small business including HR, finance, payroll, marketing, management, and operations. Some of Bjorn’s achievements include a 4th place qualification at the Business Professionals of America National Competition in Entrepreneurship as well as the Entrepreneurship Major of the Year Award from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Tim Craver, Application Developer
Interests: Technology, comedy and coaching
Education: B.S. in Informatics from Indiana University
Tim is responsible for some of the aspects of the development life cycle at BitWise. Getting direction from the project manager, Tim will see a project at the dream stage and develop a real world solution for it.
After graduating from Indiana University in December of 2003, Tim’s first job offer was from BitWise Solutions. His first role with BitWise was to head the FACS Web effort for the company. His first two years were spent mostly on developing and delivering FACS Web to clients all over the country. In the past few years Tim has been constantly been keeping pace with FACS Web while also learning new technologies, such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) and C# using ASP.NET. Tim lives in Carmel with his parents, Rhonda and Jeff, his younger brother, Matt, their two cats, Apollo and Caesar, and the family bird, Petri.
Some of the many Web site solutions that Tim has built include
- Banazzle (www.banazzle.com): This membership-driven motor club offers discounts for a variety of services all across the nation. The custom-built solution allows the site visitor to locate services by category and location with a convenient ZIP code lookup feature. Enrollment in the program can be completed online, and the Banazzle site also allows online registration for organizations to register to use the sale of Banazzle memberships as a fundraising campaign.
- Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indianapolis (www.historiclandmarks.org): Built on the MOSS platform, this redesigned site significantly updated the look and feel of the site for Historic Landmarks. Using the MOSS platform provided the organization with the opportunity to customize and easily manage content for the various regional offices. The site also integrates with the organization’s email marketing solution, ExactTarget, and their online donation management system, Blackbaud. A later phase of the site will include an interactive way for site visitors to plan an itinerary of tourist activities in the Marion County area.
- IntegratedAg Services (www.yieldtrials.com): IntegratedAg Services has managed a test plot program for more than 14 years. The company engaged BitWise to build an interactive, user-friendly way for customers to access the yield results of the test plots. Tim built the interface and the database for the site, which allows IAS to manage the database through a Web interface, manage the ad space on the site, and offers site visitors a variety of ways to view plot data and compare seed varieties.
Blake Facey, Senior Software Engineer

A senior programmer for BitWise Solutions, Blake focuses his attention on developing Web-based applications for clients. Some of his recent Web projects include:
- IndianaNet: The leading legislative reporting and tracking service for governmental affairs professionals. IndianaNet was originally built seven years prior. Blake did a complete redesign including rebuilding the code from the ground up and the addition of many new administrative tools in order to allow the client to accomplish updates much more easily.
- Inside INdiana Business (www.insideindianabusiness.com): Features Indiana business news, video and audio on a premium digital platform. The recent redesign of the IIB site included:
- Improved display of daily business news, archives and resources
- Streamlined navigation and breadcrumbs
- Enhanced display and functionality of video
- Twenty new video and audio podcasts
- Delivery of mobile content through six RSS feeds
- ZIP code-searchable database of television and radio broadcast listings
- Customizable advertising opportunities
- Renaissance LLC (www.charitabletrust.com): Redesign of their old site with the addition of a client reporting interface that ties into the back-end systems and allows clients to get up-to-date reports on their charitable trust accounts.
- Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC) (www.cilc.org): A videoconferencing catalog and scheduling application.
- Ice Miller LLP: Proposal generation tool.
Blake’s skill set includes ASP.NET, C#, ASP, COM/MTS Applications, Visual Basic, MS Scripting languages, JavaScript, Web Standards, CSS, SQL Server and Access. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional. When he’s not developing Web applications, Blake is researching and educating himself on the latest programming technologies. Blake is often the go-to person for troubleshooting and problem solving at BitWise.
Curt Franke, Business Development Manager
Family: Raising three boys, Zachariah, Nathaniel, and William, with wife, Leigh Anne.
Interests: Raising three boys to become godly men, being a good husband, golf, Karate, good movies and remembering good movie lines, music, and reading
Education: B.S. in Business Administration, Butler University.
Curt is responsible for identifying new business opportunities with both current and potential clients. With the clients’ objectives in mind, Curt helps companies to focus on the strategic use of technology to achieve tangible, measurable business benefits.
Curt graduated cum laude from Butler University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Shortly after completing his undergraduate work, Curt braved the insanity of Southern California for five years in the early 90s while serving as a manufacturer’s representative in the construction industry. Since returning to his Indiana roots, Curt has been in a sales role involving car shows and monster truck events, did brief stint with sales training, and then settled into sales and marketing roles with Indianapolis-based technology companies.
Curt’s most recent award was the Indiana Software Industry’s Super Sales Person Award (Sales in Excess of 1 Million Dollars, Quest Information Systems, 2004).
Greg Herrell, Senior Software Engineer
Greg’s expertise involves solving business problems with custom software. His experience spans seven years and several programming skills, including ASP.NET, C#, ASP, COM/MTS Applications, Visual Basic, MS Scripting languages, JavaScript, Web Standards, CSS, SQL Server and Access. Greg develops both Windows desktop and Web-based software solutions. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional and holds other certifications in Solutions Architecture and Analysis and C# Web Applications.
Most of Greg’s projects are large in scope and require vast amounts of time and research. Some of his most recent projects include:
- The entire back-office processing environment that runs the Medical Savings Insurance Company daily business operations, a Windows desktop application that has taken MSI to the next generation of growth for their business.
- The development of a Web-based multi-tiered calendar and scheduling application with administrative functions for the Catholic Youth Organization.
- Creating an e-commerce product catalog with comparison tools; a point-of-sale application; a customer extranet; and inventory, invoicing and fulfillment management tools for ICORN.
Alex Jimenez, Client Relations Manager
Family: Linda (wife) and Lloyd (mutt)
Interests: Cycling, photography, Jeeps, being a handyman
Education: B.S. in Marketing and Communications, University of Indianapolis
Alex came to BitWise Solutions to enhance and build relationships with clients. Essentially, his role at BitWise ensures that clients are provided with coherent and relevant Web solutions.
Before landing at BitWise, Alex Jimenez served as an account manager for multiple marketing agencies. His most recent position allowed him to work exclusively with not-for-profit clients – including colleges and universities, membership organizations, and health care organizations. Here, he consulted with his clients on their branding efforts, strategic marketing and research. Prior to that position, Alex served as an account director for a public relations agency, where he was able to work with a variety of businesses, from universities to law firms to funeral centers.
Currently, Alex serves as the President of the board of the Indianapolis chapter of the American Marketing Association, and sits on the board of the Meridian Kessler Neighborhood Association.
Brian Maki, Application Developer
Family: Wife, April

Education: B.S. in Computer Technology from IUPUI
Brian is responsible for all aspects of the development life cycle at BitWise. Taking direction from the project manager, Brian will see a project at the dream stage and develop a real world solution for it.
Prior to joining BitWise Solutions, Brian worked for four years as an application developer at Hat World. At Hat World he was the primary developer of their corporate intranet application. Hat World’s corporate intranet incorporated several different functions of the company including sales reporting, product definitions, real estate deal management, store definitions, store audits, employee change forms & information, store tax management, and inventory management.
Some of Brian’s projects at BitWise include
- Biocrossroads LINX (www.biocrossroadslinx.com): BioCrossroadsLINX advances Indiana’s drug development sector and facilitates connections with the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The BiocrossroadsLINX site includes an interactive chart to view companies by the service they provide.
- DQE Ready (www.dqeready.com): Brian created an e-commerce solution for DQE that allows them to manage orders placed online. DQE's product catalog allows for mutiple items photos and attachments.
- Common Goal (www.commongoalindy.org): Using a design provided by the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, Brian built the Common Goal site. This site features eye-catching and interactive elements in both the Flash intro to the site and the navigation rollovers. It also includes a database for local educators to share programs geared toward helping improve the graduation rates of students in Marion County.
- Salin Bank (www.salin.com): This redesign project dramatically updated the look of the site, bringing it in line with current banking industry standards. Site features include a banking center and ATM locator, an online education center, and integration with the bank’s Internet banking applications.
Nicole Nonte, Account Executive
Interests: Spending time with family and friends, reading, playing tennis, enjoying all things dance-related, watching ridiculous reality TV and celebrity gossip shows
Education: B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University with Minors in Spanish; Contemporary Dance; and Leadership, Ethics and Social Action (LESA)
Nicole joined the BitWise team in 2006. As an Account Executive, she is responsible for creating and maintaining client relationships. She works with both new and existing BitWise clients to better understand their business goals and objectives and translate those needs into effective Web solutions.
Nicole is able to utilize a strong background in customer service in her current position. Prior to joining the BitWise team, she was with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Nicole worked in the National Market Claims division as a Workers’ Compensation Claims Case Manager and received the Spotlight on Success Award for outstanding customer service.
Mike Reynolds, Application Developer
Family: Wife, Andrea; son, Robbie; and daughter, Sammie
Interests: Family, podcasting, and gaming
Education: A.S. in Computer Technology from Vincennes University
Mike brings to the BitWise table extensive knowledge of both Windows and Web technologies, with experience in Visual Basic, VB.NET, C#, ASP, ASP.NET, SQL and Access databases and Microsoft SharePoint Server (MOSS).
Before joining the BitWise team, Mike worked for WebMD as an application developer. His primary responsibilities included developing and maintaining several Intranet applications.
Two of the MOSS sites that Mike has built are
- Finance Center Federal Credit Union (www.fcfcu.com): Staff at FCFCU use MOSS to manage all the content of this site, including the banking center and ATM locations, the banner ads in the site, the events on the various calendars, and all of the content related to the various products and services.
- Marian College (www.marian.edu): Custom-built features of the Marian College site of particular interest are the “Meet a Marian College Student” feature, which allows Marian College staff to manage which students are featured, a news tool to manage area-specific types of news information, and the admissions inquiry form, which gathers specific information related to the specific type of prospective student.
Kim Smith, Executive Project Assistant
Family: Three bright and inspiring children--daughters Kayla and Kourtney and son Austin
Interests: Walking, reading, knitting, gardening and attending her children’s various sporting events
Education: B.S. in Psychology from Indiana University
Kim is responsible for overseeing the various non-client related projects at BitWise. These projects include BitWise Fellows, Web Camp and Sharp Minds, to name a few. Prior to coming to BitWise, Kim held the position of Assistant Director of The Masters Study, a small tutorial school with about 115 students. As assistant director her duties included daily organization and preparation for the school days and other school-related activities. Her favorite part of the job was the interaction with the students, teachers and parents.
Kim is driven to see that our CEO’s schedule runs smoothly and to keep organization of the office a priority. She is the person that you are most likely to talk to when you call the office.
Matt Tanner, Creative Director
Family: Wife, Karen, and son, Daniel
Pets: Sunny & Addi (our yellow labs) & Buster (our kitty)
Interests: Everything to do with cycling.
Education: A.S./B.S. in Computer Graphics Technology, College of Technology, Purdue University.
Since joining the company in 1997, Matt has evolved into a team leader for BitWise. He plays a two-part role, advising the development team as well as serving as lead designer. Matt integrates technical requirements, information architecture, and usability with visual composition, resulting in highly functional Web design.
Matt has worked on hundreds of Web sites for numerous industries during his career at BitWise. He has been honored twice with the TechPoint Million Dollar Award for his work on projects for Made2Manage and Ice Miller.
Prior to working at BitWise, Matt worked at Dreamtech where he created high-end multimedia kiosks. Matt graduated in 1996 from Purdue University with a BA in Technical Computer Graphics where he studied the composition of media assets within authoring and Web technologies to create tools that inform, educate, persuade and entertain.
